The Mountain Top Engagement

I was more than excited when Caitlin and Jordan told me at their wedding consult that he had proposed on top of a mountain. I always ask couples if they have a special place that they would like to have their engagment session and this had me pumped.

Then when they brought their pompapoo Bear, that was icing on the cake. He was such a well behaved little guy. And not to mention photogenic.

It took us about 30 minutes via ATV to get to the top of the mountiain and there was no shortage of gorgeous places to shoot.

Jordan let me know that he wasn’t big on photos and I told him, “That’s fine with me!” I’m not here to have you look at me, I’m here to document the love between a couple or a family. So if you are looking for a “everyone look at the camera and be perfect” I’m probably not the one for you.

On the the other side of the mountain was a pond and even though it was winter, we still made use of it. And since Jordan likes to fish, I knew we had to incorporate it. We even found a half(well really just a quarter) of an old boat. And we used that as well. You never know what I’ll ask you to do, but it’s always with a purpose in mind.

We finished up the session on the steps of their new home. They have a gorgeous back yard with an amazing barn that will host their summer wedding. I’m so honored they chose me to be a part of their big day!
